"A short message to tell you that i saw Pulp last night in St Malo...as usual, they were great ! Jarvis said on stage that he was tired (he made an considerable effort to speak French ! ["je suis fatigué ce soir" You know I'm tired...] but he made the show and it was just fantastic! I appreciate that the people who came to the festival were here for Pulp ... because during the sets of the other bands (tom mc rae, mogwai, ladytron...), the atmosphere was not very hot but everybody was in fact very excited and was waiting for Pulp and at last they came on stage at midnight !!!
So (common) people start to dance while the debut of Common People (new version) and it continued with some new material...it was better than at Paleo festival and my friends tell me better than Benicassim too...but i think (and I'm proud of it) that French people always specially loved the band (more than in other countries) and Jarvis in particular...after new stuff, the band played The Fear ("vous avez un peu peur ce soir" said Jarvis (in French) "you have the fear" ). They also played A Little Soul (Jarvis said at the end of the song that he was a "mauvaise personne" "a bad person avec une trés petite ame" "with a little, very little soul" ) the audience said:"nooooooooooo" !!!
After that they played Help The Aged, Party Hard, This is Hardcore....the set finished as usual with Sunrise...all the new songs were very good and the audience had the same opinion so i hope the new lp will go to the top of the charts in France in October !!! So, it was a beautiful night in St Malo and I think it is time for Pulp to be back in France !!! (Olivier Marchi, France)
"Hi Alex! Just an
