Forest Glade Festival, Burgenland, 19 July

I arrived at about eleven and had enough time to check out the place. Time went very slow because I didn't care much for the other bands and was desperately waiting for 8.30 when Pulp were supposed to play. I got to talk to lots of people though and we laughed at all the Cure fans (well that's what they're there for isn't it?)...I went to the tent early to get to the front. After what seemed like hours I could hear the opening of The Fear and Pulp entered the stage. It was absolutely amazing. I couldn't believe it was really happening...I just stood there pressed against the barricades, with my mouth half open. This must have been one of the best shows ever. Jarvis spoke a lot of German between the songs which made the crowd cheer even more. Songs included The Fear, Do You Remember The First Time, I'm A Man, Dishes, A Little Soul, TV Movie, Sylvia, Help The Aged, This Is Hardcore, Party Hard, Glory Days, Common People and, for an encore, Laughing Boy. I nearly died! I then had to get rescued myself because the Cure fans were pushing in, and watching another band just wouldn't have felt right. I got out just in time to see Pulp being driven away...

Got home the following morning and slept for about 22 hours! This was the high point of the summer!! Oh, I forgot - I didn't see this because it happened at the right hand side of the stage, but some guy told me later that Steve went into the crowd once to stop a fight between a security guy and some guy from the audience! Sadly I wasn't allowed to take any pictures so I can't send any. I'm so happy! (Vanessa Siegl)
