Just back from the Barrowlands gig....just brilliant! All the new songs sound great live, with 'Birds' being a crowd favorite, really getting people going, I Love Life and Sunrise rocking and Cover Version just rules. Jarvis was on form, despite a sore throat, quoting Macbeth (went down well with the Scots crowd) and talking about erasing all his knowledge of Doctor Who. Great versions of Live Bed Show and Laughing Boy (with a story about 'waking up with a mate on the sofa with his bollocks hanging out, not a sight u want first thing in the morning!). Babies had us all bouncing off the walls and ceiling and Joyriders in the encore was a great surprise....I had a fantastic nite, the only downpoint being catching Nick's drumstick in me hand only to have it lost in a violent scrum! (Mark Russon)

Magnificent start to my Pulp career!  What a magnificent night, most of my fave songs being played.  A bit of a shame Common People, Disco 2000 + Razzmatazz weren't played but not every song can be.  Really sorry Mark Russon I got the drumstick  (Toby Waterhouse)

Wanted to post our experience of the night - were you there? It was fabulous!!! Jarvis is a God and should go down in history as the sexiest man alive - yes - I want his children!!! My friend and I ended up standing next to this really loud Glasgwegian woman who threw her g-string on stage to Jarvis and proceeded to shout 'Jarvis - sniff my knickers!' Claire got groped by a 15-year-old boy standing behind us - this was after he'd rubbed his crotch up and down my leg for a fair amount of time! We can now say that we provided a teenage boy with his first sexual experience to the sound of Jarvis's voice! [That's what it's all about - Ed] But Pulp were fabulous - I would even go as far saying that they were faultless. The whole drive back to Carlisle was spend praising the band - and the night and singing. Thank you Pulp or making us so happy! (Jen Clarke)

It was my first experience of Pulp on Thursday at the atmospheric Barrowlands and it was one of the best gig I've ever been to.  After Weeds and Minnie the crowd started to get warmed up and during F.E.E.L.I.N.G.C.A.L.L.E.D.L.O.V.E me and all my fellow Pulp fans got squished down the front with all the bunny hopping going on behind us, but it was all worth it!  Nice to see Joyriders being played, I've not heard it in ages, but the highlight of the night for me was Babies as I adore that song!  Great stories from Jarvis on stage too, like how our minds should be like computer hard drives so we can delete useless information.  After the gig we stood outside in the freezing cold to meet Jarvis and Nick afterwards who I shook hands with and good ol' Jarvis signed my ticket "Wiggy, get Jiggy!".  Perfect end to a perfect night.  No Common People or Do You Remember The First Time, but I don't really care because every song on the playlist was great.  Pulp come back to Glasgow soon, we all miss you already!!! (Wiggy)

The gig started with the sounds of an instrumental Weeds ll playing through the speakers and a video of
a flower blooming on the screen. Then the whole band appeared on stage and where joined by 2 members of the Fat Truckers playing snare drums on 'Weeds'.  The band all looked great; Mark looked happier than usual (and what was this thing with him and Candida, they would look up at each other and smile then look away quickly, embarrassed like 2 school children gazing at someone they fancy then getting all shy when the look up), Candida looked very beautiful  and elegant in her long silky dress, Nick just looked the same, Steve seemed to look like age is finally catching up with him, Richard look huge and muscular up the back different from the last time I seen him and to Jarvis was just his charismatic self, he was like panther or a bird of prey, crawling and jumping all over the place, prey on the audience, taunting them to try and touch him. Anyway back to the music the new songs were immense 'Minnie' was apparently occurred in Glasgow so Jarvis said, but after all it was only a dream. 'Birds' was so beautiful; it reached heights I couldn't imagine it would've, more emotional than I thought. After 'Birds Jarvis was telling the crowd about birds and bird calls, at this point Nick was talking to Candida, pointing Jarvis and through his arm movements was suggesting that you Jarvis wind Jarvis up like a machine and he doesn't stop talking. 'Live Bed Show' was well received by the crowd as all the songs were that came from 'Different Class'. Some how someone's thong ended up on-stage, Jarvis picked it up and said "ehh Nick you've left your underwear lying about again".  Bad Cover Version was introduced as being Nick's favourite song at which point both Jarvis and Nick both point at each other and laugh (must be some in band joke). 'I Love Life' rocked like Pulp have never rocked before, after this as I did at the end of most songs I looked at Candida as she always seemed to look at our side of the crowd and I gave and appreciative nod which she returned with a nice smile.  Before 'The Trees' Jarvis done a pose with his hands in the air saying "Lets all be trees. Don't they do that at schools anymore get children to be trees?" then someone crowd replied "No, just at your school mate". Sunrise was the last song before they went off stage.  For the first encore we were treated to 'Sorted', the return of 'Babies' and 'The Fear' the crowd sing along with every word, grunt and groan with emulated from Jarvis. During 'The Fear' Jarvis done his coming to the front of the stage and reaching out for people to attempt to touch him, a sea of hands appeared before me trying to connect with his long fingers, so in a moment when I became 12 years old again at jumped forward and made that connection with Jarvis' hand. When they returned for the final encore Jarvis brought out the traditional fag and a bottle of 'Grolsch', he gave me his Fag (a Marlboro Light) and my friend the bottle of 'Grolsch' (which my friend gave me after the gig).  They played 'Party Hard with a speeded-up outro, the excellent 'Joyriders' and 'Underwear'. Pulp have returned, they are a little older, but haven't sounded as fresh, a supreme gig and great night."  (Scott McGinn)

Just a very quick note to let you know Pulp blew Glasgow away on Thursday night - although you'll know that if you were there. Looking forward to the next one already!!!!! (Eleanor)

The band seem newly energised after the draining experience of This Is Hardcore, creating a powerful, ballroom filling racket. Cocker himself darts around the stage throwing the kind of electric shock dance shapes that endeared him to us in the first place. The crowd eagerly embrace tracks from We Love Life - especially the shimmery, Simple Minds-esque guitar riff of The Night That Minnie Timperley Died. But when Pulp dip into their vintage reserve, the place crackles.  Something Changed inspires a singalong, while the punky Casio lurch of Joyriders even gets some people slam dancing....and then they play Babies, and the whole place goes absolutely bananas. There's a terrific feeling of shared experience... (Graeme Virtue, The Sunday Herald)
