Rockpalast Festival, 20 June

"Jarvis appeared to be in a filthy temper. Apparently, they'd lost some equipment and what they had on stage didn't appear to be working very well, especially the monitors. All the way through, Jarvis was effing and blinding (and worse)...Then at the end he became really violent, slinging his mic stand to the ground and pushing over each monitor in a proper Elton John type tantrum. He even managed to lambaste poor Mark for missing the intro to Common People by a few seconds. His voice was the ropiest I'd ever heard it, especially during This Is Hardcore, it was almost painful to listen to. What on earth was going on? Before singing The Fear, he told the German audience that they were going to "die in terrible pain" and at the end of the set he said "Thanks, it's been an experience - a pretty shitty experience at that" (Julie Bosworth)

Yes it's true, Jarvis was simply in a bad mood - they were using very poor equipment (not their own), and it didn't work properly - every other group that played had the same problem. Imagine playing a whole set without being able to hear yourself on stage - pretty annoying! The entire debacle is available on video if you're feeling brave!
