ROCKWAVE, 16 July
"Thousands of people were in Freattys (a seaside in Piraeus) on the last day of the festival. Most of them were there for Pulp and Sonic Youth. When Pulp got up on the stage I felt so excited and personally I was moved. The Fear was the first song, the introduction to Pulp's trip. Jarvis said hello in Greek and a comment about the warm summer evening by the sea. He was MAGIQUE and so cool. The audience was mostly enthusiastic, making the atmosphere special with flares. After finishing the set Pulp appeared two more times on stage with Jarvis performing the best songs of the night. Common People was a real APOTHEOSIS. I really cannot describe, I think even Jarvis didn't expect such a stirring and cheering applause. I wish they had played My Legendary Girlfriend, Razzmatazz, Babies, and Countdown. I think the only song from that era was She's Dead. If only they had come five or six years ago. Later, Candida said that they couldn't afford it then. Both Jarvis and Candida claimed that this was the best concert, with the one in Portugal, for this year. I was amazed at her friendliness - I didn't speak much with Jarvis, he seemed tired and I was embarrassed. We arranged to see Candida the next day. We went for a walk in the Acropolis with her sister sister in law. We had a great time with them and I hope they had too. Well, thanks again for everything. You are very nice and kind. (Aggi)
